At The Purple Bell, we are always reminded that some of the most important values we can teach children are compassion, kindness, and the importance of supporting one another. Recently, we had the privilege of witnessing all of those values come to life during our fundraiser for Eímear Byrne, for her life-saving surgery in the US.
What started as a fun-filled evening quickly became something so much bigger, a beautiful reminder that even in a world where there can sometimes feel like there is so much sadness about, there really are so many beautiful moments to soak up too.
Our fundraiser evening was packed with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories. The children absolutely loved taking part in our Water Bucket Challenge, where they donated money for the chance to pour buckets of water over the teachers at The Purple Bell! There were squeals of laughter, lots of soaked staff members, and smiles all around as everyone joined in the fun for such an important cause.
Afterwards, we all settled down for a cosy movie night complete with treats, snacks, and a wonderful atmosphere. Although the movie didn’t last very long, the children all played with different toys, games and equipment. We even had the karaoke machine out for a sing-along on the mics. It was one of those evenings that truly captured the magic of community spirit. Families, children, staff, and friends all coming together with one shared goal: helping Eímear and her family.
Watching the children take part so enthusiastically was incredibly special. It showed just how powerful kindness can be, even from the smallest members of our community. These are the moments that stay with children. Learning that helping others matters, that communities can make a difference, and that together we are stronger.
We are beyond grateful to every single person who donated, attended, supported, shared our fundraiser, or helped in any way. Every contribution, big or small, means so much and will help support Eímear on her journey towards the life-saving surgery she needs.
Thank you for helping us make such a special evening possible.
From all of us at The Purple Bell, thank you for standing together for Eímear.
