April has been a wonderfully busy and exciting month here at The Purple Bell. With the arrival of brighter days and the Easter midterm break, there was a real buzz of energy throughout the service, and plenty of fun filled activities for everyone to enjoy.
One of the standout moments this month was our Pyjama Day during the Easter break. It was such a lovely, relaxed day where the children came in wearing their favourite cosy pyjamas, bringing a warm and cheerful atmosphere to the room. We spent the day enjoying games, activities, laughter, and quality time together. It was a simple idea that created such special memories for both the children and staff.
What made the day even more meaningful was that it was all in aid of a fantastic cause. Thanks to the generosity and support of our families, we were delighted to raise €120.00 for Arklow Autism Friendly Town.
Arklow Autism Friendly Town is an incredible charity that works closely with local businesses and the wider community to make Arklow a more accessible and welcoming place for children with autism and their families. They provide support, guidance, and practical tools to help improve an understanding of autism and encourage inclusive practices across the town.
The impact of their work can already be seen in so many positive changes throughout Arklow. More businesses are becoming autism aware, environments are being adapted to be more sensory friendly, and there is a growing sense of understanding and acceptance within the community. These changes make a real difference to families, helping them feel more comfortable and confident when out and about.
We are so proud to have supported such an important initiative, and our Pyjama Day was a perfect example of how small acts can come together to create something meaningful. It was a day full of fun, kindness, and community spirit for sure.
